Currently not accepting reviews.

For Blog Readers:

My reviews are always honest & I do not review anything I don’t think sounds promising. My book reviews always indicate my biases. I will note when a book has been given to me for review. I do not review books in the order I receive them. I do not receive compensation for reviews.

For Publishers & Authors:
Check above to see if I’m currently accepting ebooks and print arcs for reviewing purposes. Whilst I may agree to review your book, that doesn’t guarantee a perfect review. However, I’m happy to write positive blurbs for your book. I review new, indie, self-publishing (etc.) authors a lot differently (& more kindly) than established authors. I am happy to accept Galleys as well. I will take timeliness into consideration, but do not promise to review your book by a fixed date. I reserve the right to reject your book for review. I will not review Horror, Suspense, Erotica, Religion, or Western novels.
In your email, please include:
  • Title and author of the book for review
  • Cover image to use in the review (not required, but would be appreciated especially if it’s an ebook)
  • A small teaser about your book, sort of like a sample blurb
  • An excerpt from your book, no longer than a chapter (not the ending please)
  • Any information you think might be helpful
  • If you would be open to a giveaway (this does not affect your review)

  1. Dear Alysyn,
I have been perusing reader blogs, ran across yours and was drawn to contact you regarding my new novel, “The Flight of the Pickerings”. It is brand new and frankly, I need experienced, intelligent reviews. After 8 years of working on it, I’m happy with it and indeed, so are the first readers. Please consider receiving a copy, either e-version or print version if you require and I’ll provide. It is available through Amazon or direct through me. Below is a short synopsis and an image of the cover.
    Thank you for your consideration
    John Grayson Heide
Guy Pickering has the biggest problem of his life. Dorothy, the only woman he’s ever loved, suffers with pain and dementia and has only weeks to live. Years ago, she made it clear to Guy that he is expected to put her out of her misery if she ever got to this stage. And he just can’t bring himself to do it. With love and honor in heart and a dread of loneliness, he decides to go with her and saunter into the afterlife beside his wife. A plan is hatched, but Guy is not good at this sort of thing and everything is further complicated by a rebellious teenage grandson that shows up unexpectedly. Much to Guy’s frustration, Life keeps getting in the way of death.
The Flight of the Pickerings is a love story that wrestles with end of life issues and our right for self-determination. Filled with tender moments and comic twists, this book engages the reader in one family’s final journey, a voyage all of us will take, sooner or later.

oooh. cover image wouldn’t copy here….
