2015 is over! I edited down the full Year in Review Post because the other just seems too long. I also tried not to use the same book twice for most of the questions.
Overall, the year has been crazy so I’m really proud of what I’ve read compared to the hectic changes that have been happening in my life. I feel like certain books just come to you at the right time you were meant to read them & I definitely felt that way with a lot of the books I’ve read this year.
Number of books read: 41 books & 27 comics
Rereads: 10 books
Reading in 2015:
Top Books You Read In 2015?
Somewhat in order, except The Secret History & The Bone Season are tied.
Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?
The Diviners was actually still a good read, just didn’t live up to the hype. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August was torturous to get through, but everybody else seems to love it & some even named it as their favorite book of the year. Afterworlds is just awful. Never put me through that again.
Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read in 2015?
Favorite new author you discovered in 2015?
The Harry Potter Series & The Raven Cycle Series 🙂
Favorite cover of a book you read in 2015?
There was a few but the thought that went into The Strange Library‘s full book design is actually Art with a capital A.
McSweeney’s always prints lovely editions.
Coralie Bickford-Smith is amazing.
Most memorable character of 2015?
Locke, you are a peach. Never change.
Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2015?
“I’m a cynical idealist.” -F. Scott Fitzgerald
“Try to learn what is unfair teach you.” -David Foster Wallace
“Carol turned around quickly as if stifling an urge to lunge at Max. He turned back to Max, straining to appear genial.
‘Okay,’ he said, ‘but will you come over here and put your head in my mouth again?’
Max continued to back up, ‘No, Carol. I don’t want to right now.'”
Shortest & Longest Book You Read In 2015?
I’ll let you guess which was the longest…
OTP OF THE YEAR (you will go down with this ship!)
(OTP = one true pairing if you aren’t familiar)
Navy & Karen from House of Leaves ❤
Cath & Levi from Fangirl ❤
& no, The Bone Season‘s pick is not Paige & Warden. Because I hate that ship. I got all excited for Paige & Nicklas, only to have my ship sunk halfway through. I don’t care. I’ll ride this thing out like the damn Titanic.
